Atlanta Thanksgiving Half Marthon

Earn your Thanksgiving Dinner this year!!!

It is that time of year again...when Turkeys are chased through the streets of Atlanta by crazed starving blood thirsty Pilgrims!!!

Sunny Atlanta in November! A little Chili...but not for the bird that I am going to be this year!

2011 will be a year to remember, not a turkey, not a parrot, but another member,

it will be a bird of another sort, no wings nor feathers, rather somethin you might not a have thought,

yes...that is right! this bird has no power of flight,

but don't be fooled by his grin of yellow, he is one crazy fast young little fellow...

look left, look right before you cross...you will not want to be hit by this icelandic boss!

Atlanta's Centennial Olympic Park this time of the year!

The Atlanta Thanksgiving Half Marathon is run every year on the morning of Thanksgiving Day. It is always a little on the cold side, but if you decide to dress up it will make the run so much more enjoyable! I have rocked up in the daisy duke running shorts and wife-beater/singlet plenty of times and it is not cool when you stand out in the cold for 45 minutes before the start of the race and freeze to death. Nothing says, "I am here to run my face off so that I can eat my face off at Thanksgiving Dinner!!!" like dressing up like a Turkey crazed Hooligan in a rediculous outfit or Halloween Costume...

I hope to see all of you out there on Thanksgiving Morning for the Atlanta Thanksgiving Half Marathon!!!

Until then...keep running and Go Get'Em!!!

Thanksgiving Half Marathon!

If you have not done the Atlanta Thanksgiving Half Marathon you are missing out! I have run this race a number of times and I still can't find a better reason to prepare for the crazy delicious feast in the afternoon at Thanksgiving dinner. Thanksgiving kind of reminds me of Boxing day in South Africa, we would feast just like you guys do, but it is on the day after Christmas. There is always a and a small amount of sippies sauce consumed during this wonderful time of year, and why not you just ran a half marathon in the morning, you earned it!!!

The Atlanta Thanksgiving Half Marathon is held during a perfect time of year for running, not to hot and not to cold, the weather in Atlanta weather tends to be cool to cold on Thanksgiving Day, and November temperatures average between 44°F and 63°F.
