Didn’t get in to this year’s AJC Peachtree Road Race? Close to 8,000 applications were returned this year after reaching the event’s capacity of 55,000.
The Atlanta Track Club has made 100 slots available for $150 per entry to benefit the track club’s Kilometer Kids youth running program. Of that entry fee, $117 will go directly to the youth program and $33 will cover the expense of the Peachtree entry. These entries are available only to those not already accepted into the 2010 event.
Those who purchase these special race numbers will be automatically placed in Start Wave C. However, if you have the appropriate time documentation for placement in one of the earlier start waves, please be sure to include that in your online registration.
The Kilometer Kids program is an incentive-based youth running program created by the Atlanta Track Club to encourage children to become more active in a fun and supportive environment. The program features a spring and fall edition that promotes fitness through running. Each participant receives a special incentive items at certain benchmarks throughout the ten-week program. More than 500 area youth are currently participating in the spring edition of the Kilometer Kids program.
